Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas is a computer-animated animation made as direct-to-video movie on VHS and DVD in 2004. This is a sequel to the Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas of 1999. This involves 5 segments just the like the one preceding it which features Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy, Max (Goofy's Son), Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louie, and Scrooge McDuck.
Each segment starts off with a magical pop-up book which has the illusion of having the audience is actually reading each story. It is ingenious and introduces a fresh look of the many Disney characters as seen in 3D computer animation for the first time. Also it has the style of the oil paintings done by Carl Banks.
Disney's Animated Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas has been directed by Matthew O'Callaghan. The writers are Chad Fiveash, Carole Holliday, Peggy Holmes, Bill Motz, Matthew O'Callaghan, Jim Peronto, and James Patrick Stoteraux. Voice casts are Wayne Allwine, Tony Anselmo, Bill Farmer, Russi Taylor, Tress Macneille, Alan Young, Corey Burton, Jeff Bennett, Jason Marsden, and Jim Cummings.
Music is by Stephen James Taylor, and Jim Wise. The editing for this movie was done by Kirk Demorest.1 Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas is distributed by Buena Vista Home Entertainment and the DVD release date was November 9, 2004. The running time is 68 minutes and was preceded by Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas (1999).
The first segment is entitled 'Belles on Ice' which tells the story of Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck on ice skating competition as rivals but ends up with a poignant reconciliation. The ending shows Minnie and Daisy hugging and wishing each other a "Merry Christmas".
The second segment is entitled "Christmas: Impossible". This is about the story of Huey, Dewey, and Louie Duck at the Uncle Scrooge's mansion in Duckburg to celebrate the Christmas Eve. Both Donald Duck and Daisy Duck also came to the holiday festivities.
"Christmas Maximus" is the third segment and the story features Max Goof and Goofy who are celebrating the holidays.1 The song "Make Me Look Good" is highly featured in the story. The fourth segment is entitled "Donald's Gift" which centers on Donald Duck and his wish for peace and quiet. Unfortunately, as expected, there are events that disrupted and annoyed Donald.
The last and final segment is "Mickey's Dog-Gone Christmas". The story unfolds Mickey putting up decorations but Pluto keeps on interrupting. With all the interruptions and diversions, the story concludes in peace and harmony. The film ends with all the Disney characters singing a medley of Christmas carols.
